What we do

We design, deliver and evaluate mental health and wellbeing peer support groups and workshops for Black people and allies in education, the community, and at work.

Black Students Talk

Black Students Talk is a safe space for Black university students to unpack their traumas, celebrate their wins, and be their authentic unapologetic selves.

Who we are

We are a team of passionate students, researchers, clinicians and professionals, who formed a non-profit organisation. With big hearts and big ambitions, we dream of making the UK a place where Black people can be heard and thrive. To do this, we create and nurture safe spaces for conversations about Black mental health.

Our Community

Nice things people have said about us

I like Black People Talk because it is a safe space where Black people can talk about the struggles we face in a predominantly white space.

“Black Students Talk provides a genuine safe space for black people to express their thoughts and feelings, this group is very precious; helping to open up a doorway for black voices to be heard in all of its rawness.”

“It is a luxury to have this kind of service in our racist environment. Everyone belongs when you’re at Black Students Talk… I have built friendships with other students from these sessions.”

Resources

Our team creates resources for Black people and allies to use beyond our sessions. We do this to improve understanding of different challenges Black people face and the impact it can have on our mental health.
